Muldrow powerlifters sending nine athletes this week’s state meet

HARTSHORNE — The Muldrow High School and junior high powerlifters competed at last week’s Class 3A Regional Meet, with several earning berths to this week’s state meet in El Reno.

In last Thursday’s high school regional, nine Bulldogs earned state berths, with three regional champions and a regional runner-up in the mix.

Freshmen Zaylenny Williams (132 pounds, with a total of 815 pounds lifted), Alex Rodriguez (145, 835 pounds lifted) and Xavier Coby (heavyweight, 1,275 pounds lifted) all were regional champions.

Alejandro Santacruz was a regional runner-up at 220 pounds with a total of 1,310 pounds lifted.

Gabe Smalley (157 pounds, with 1,000 pounds total lifted), Dillon Turner (168, 665 pounds lifted) and Israel Moss (heavyweight, 965 pounds lifted) all finished third.

David Keenan (123 pounds, with a total of 705 pounds lifted) and freshman Ethan Kosier (123, 455 pounds lifted) were fifth.

In last Wednesday’s junior high school regional, Landon Brown was 10th at 198 pounds as he lifted a total of 735 pounds to earn an at-large bid to state.
