Gans powerlifter wins regional title, qualifies for state

HARTSHORNE — Anthony Vasquez was the Class B, Division II Regional Meet champion at 181 pounds with a total lift of 1,385 pounds at last Friday’s regional meet.

Vasquez will compete at this week’s Class B, Division II State Meet in El Reno as he will be the lone Gans state qualifier.

At heavyweight, Alejandro Martinez was seventh as he lifted 925 pounds total but did not earn an at-large berth to state.

Gans 157-pounder Dalton Scott was ninth with a total lift of 885 pounds.

At 198 pounds, Jaxon Ragsdale lifted a total of 885 pounds but did not place.

Garrett Overby had a total lift of 630 pounds in the 242-pound division but did not place.
