Several Brushy Wrestling Club members qualify for state

TULSA — Several Brushy Wrestling Club members qualified for next Saturday’s Oklahoma Wrestling Association (OKWA) State Tournament, which will be at O.G.&E. Pavilion, a.k.a. “The ‘New’ Big House.

At last Saturday’s OKWA Southeast Regional Tournament at Tulsa McLain High School, eight members won regional championships — Abel Glover, Isaac Glover, Layten Cross, Rylan Henry, Cooper Price, Liliana Guerrero, Olivia Johnson and Avie Lamp.

Guerrero and Abel Glover were named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler in the girls age 8-and-younger division and the boys age 10-and-younger division, respectively.

Tristen Cross and McKynlee Cantrell were regional runners-up, while Connor Johnson, Ezlynn Bentley, Ruby Johnson, Camryn Johnson and Rocklyn Johnson were all third-place finishers.

Pattrick Fletcher, Jesse Bentley and Gracie Schneider were fourth, Tristan Price and Hayley Bentley were fifth and Kylie McInerney was sixth.
