University of the Ozarks women’s basketball team goes 4-1 in last five games

Former Muldrow Lady Bulldog Kennedi “Kiki” Wight and the University of the Ozarks women’s basketball team went 4-1 over its last five games.

On Jan. 30 in Kerrville, Texas, the Eagles defeated Schreiner University 70-56, but fell 96-71 to McMurry University on Feb. 1 in Abilene, Texas.

On Feb. 3 in Irving, Texas, the Eagles got a 69-52 road victory over the University of Texas at Dallas.

Over this past weekend at Mabee Gymnasium in Clarksville, Ark., the Eagles defeated Le-Tourneau University 67-54 last Friday night, then turned around and beat Centenary College 74-41 last Saturday night.

In the win over Schreiner, Wight scored 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had two steals.

In the loss to Mc-Murry, Wight had nine points to go with five boards, two steals and an assist.

In the victory over UT-Dallas, Wight led the Eagles with a gamehigh 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, had four assists and recorded two blocked shots.

In the win over Le-Tourneau, Wight scored 13 points, had nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots, while scoring 13 points, grabbing six boards and had two assists in the victory over Centenary.

The Eagles (9-12 overall, 4-8 in SCAC Conference play) will hit the road this weekend to meet LeTourneau at 7:30 p.m. this Friday in Longview, Texas, then travel to meet Centenary at 6 p.m. this Saturday in Shreveport, La.
