Roland FFA members competed in the Statewide Wildlife Contest on Jan. 21, hosted at Tahlequah.
The wildlife contest consists of a written exam over the wildlife laws and regulations, a written exam over outdoor safety, wildlife animal identification, and identifying plants useful for wildlife animals. An extra practicum that was added to this statewide contest was based on the students’ ability to age a deer solely using the teeth on a jaw bone.
