CHECOTAH — The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs won the Checotah Crossroads Classic with a 60-27 rout of the Hilldale Lady Hornets in Friday’s title game.
The ‘Dogs ended up coming in second as they lost 60-53 to the Eufaula Ironheads in Friday’s championship contest.
In the girls’ championship game, the Lady Bulldogs (9-6) jumped out to a 32-3 lead after a quarter and never lost their lead.
For the game, Kilah Ellingberg scored a game-high 16 points and London Hardin added 13 points to lead Muldrow.
In the boys’ championship game, the Ironheads jumped out to a 17-13 lead after a period en route to a 32-26 halftime advantage and a 43-30 lead after three quarters.
In defeat, D.J. Massey scored 19 points and Teaguen Collins and Parker Sevenstar each added 12 points to lead the ‘Dogs (10-5), followed by Jesse Kilinc with eight points and E.J. Zanders with two points.
The Muldrow basketball teams had both of last week’s NOAA Conference road games snowed out — at Roland on Jan. 27 and last Friday night at Stilwell.
The Roland road games were slated to be made up last Saturday afternoon at the Ranger Dome, but the Stilwell road games were postponed until 6 and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Stilwell Activity Center.
