Graveside service for Arthur Don Floyd, D.D.S., 90, of Hot Springs, Ark., was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at Akins Cemetery in Akins. Mr. Floyd was born on Jan. 2, 1936, in Sallisaw to Sheriff E.W. and Beulah Vesta Wickett Floyd. He died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at his home.
He was a 1954 graduate of Sallisaw High School and attended Northeastern University before dental school at the University of Tennessee Memphis in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy and loved animals.
He married Ida Kozette “Kay” McWherter on Oct. 13, 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; son, Arthur (Tad) and wife Carolyn Green of St. Louis; daughter, Elizabeth and husband Matthew Sepesy; four grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ellen Floyd Voss of Nowata; cousin, Jimmy Lessley of Sallisaw; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Marland Dale Floyd.
