Doris Luella (Walker) Johnson, 94, of Sallisaw, was born on July 25, 1931. She passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, in Fayetteville, Ark.
A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held later this spring at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Smith, Ark.
She taught high school at Central High School (Sallisaw) before teaching first grade at both Liberty Elementary and Eastside in Sallisaw. As Sallisaw’s “Teacher of the Year—1983,” Mrs. Johnson was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Sigma Alpha, National Education Association & Oklahoma Education Association for 43 years.
Survivors are a son, Dr. Barrett A. Johnson, of Fayetteville; six nieces; three nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Howard Jerry Johnson.
