Election precincts set for school boards, mayor

The February 10 election will feature races for two school boards: Central and Moffett.

The precincts open for these elections include 106, 301, 303, 305, 306, 307 and 310 for Central, and 107 for Moffett.

On the same day is the election for Sallisaw mayor. Precincts for the mayoral election are 204, 205, 301, 302 and 303.

State law allows a school district to close a precinct for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district boundaries and if no one resides in part of the precinct that is inside the district. Closing the precinct reduces the overall cost of the election for the district.

For questions, registered voters should contact the Sequoyah County Election Board at SequoyahCounty@elections.ok.gov, 918775-2614 or at 110 E. Creek Avenue, Sallisaw.

Precincts have moved

When it comes time to exercise your constitutional right to vote, there are five precincts in Sequoyah County that have moved their polling locations.

According to the Sequoyah County Election Board, the following precincts will now vote at a new site:

• Precinct 103, which previously voted at the Muldrow High School gymnasium, will now vote at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, located on Caddo Street in Muldrow • Precinct 107, which had voted at Moffett School, has been moved to TheBod Church, 109B E. Ray Fine Boulevard in Roland

• Precinct 203, which previously voted at McKey Baptist Church, will now vote at Sequoyah County Water District #8, 3520 W. Cherokee Avenue in Sallisaw

• Precinct 207, which had voted at Marble City Hall, has been moved to the Marble City Community Center, 101 S. Main Street in Marble City

• Precinct 309, which previously voted at Nicut Fire Department, will now vote at Sallie Byrd-Sevenstar Community Building, 474894 state Highway 101 in Muldrow Polling locations for all other precincts remain unchanged.

The next scheduled local elections are February 3, 2026.

The changes came following the election board’s mapping project and updating of voter records.

Many voters have received letters from the state or the county election board updating and confirming addresses, and the election board has pared the county’s list of 25,000 voters from 770 to less than 500 pages.

Voters who need to make changes to their name, address or political affiliation, or who have questions about voter information are asked to call the election board at 775-2614.
