The Muldrow Public School Board of Education moved swiftly through a full agenda last Monday evening, approving personnel changes, facility updates, policy revisions and a renewed contract for Superintendent Angela Williams during a regular meeting that lasted just 15 minutes.
After roll call, the board unanimously approved a consent agenda that included minutes from the November meeting, more than $100,000 in combined general fund and payroll encumbrances, financial reports, fundraiser requests and resignations from staff members Robin Green, Rhonda Jeremiah and Rebecca Strong.
During her Superintendent’s report, Williams reviewed the district’s December calendar, updated the board on school election filings, summarized bank interest earnings for the 2025–26 year, and discussed the newly released school report cards for all three district sites. She also highlighted the Sequoyah County Tournament bracket.
Although the agenda allowed for a possible executive session, the board voted unanimously not to enter one. Immediately after, members voted to renew Williams’ contract for the 2026–27 school year, again without dissent.
The board then approved several personnel recommendations for the current school year. Brandon Ellis was hired as a certified adjunct high school teacher for Oklahoma History, U.S. Government, Geography and World History.
Layla Kilinc was approved as a new elementary teacher and Amanda Groves was hired as a paraprofessional. All three motions received unanimous support.
Several activity fund transfers were authorized, including allocations from the football concession account to multiple athletic and booster groups, as well as transfers from basketball and broadcasting accounts to the All Sports Concession account.
Board members also approved a revision to district policy BEDE and voted to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for public bidding on epoxy floor coating for the middle school restrooms and gym, as well as new restroom stall partitions.
A request from First Assembly of God Church to use a school bus for a trip to Hot Springs, Ark., was approved contingent on proof of insurance.
Board members Colby Wilson and Darin Huggins abstained, while the remaining three members voted in favor.
In other business, the board authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sequoyah County Board of Commissioners granting the Muldrow Campus Police Department jurisdiction within the county.
With no new business presented, the meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
