Funeral services for Marion Louis “M.L.” Owens, 86, of Muldrow, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church.
Burial followed at Muldrow Memory Gardens, under the direction of Agent & Mallory- Martin Funeral Services, Inc.
Mr. Owens was born on Feb. 5, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Franklin Marion Owens and Alean (Traweek) Owens. He died on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
He married Phyllis Jean Vann on Oct. 21, 1960, in Stilwell. She preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2020.
He attended Connors State College and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University. He served as the Assistant Director of Vocational Training at Hamilton Correctional Center in Hodgen, and was a member of the Army National Guard and First Baptist Church in Muldrow.
Survivors are two brothers, Carl Owens of Owasso and Patrick Owens and Carol of Muldrow; sister- in-law, Robbie Nell Vann of Muldrow; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Shirley Peaslee and Betty Prine; and brothers-in-law, Lecho Vann and James Lynn Vann.
Pallbearers were Brett Vann, Lynn Vann, Kevin Peaslee, Michael Owens, Joe Owens, Kyle Henson and Jayson Tippetts.
Honorary pallbearers were James Treat, Marcy Frost, David Butler, Jeff Callaway, Bill Moon, Pat O’Bryan and First Baptist Morning Prayer Breakfast Group.
