Holiday drive launched for local students
By AMIE CATO-REMER EDITOR

A group of Sequoyah County women who are wanting to ensure local children have a brighter holiday season are asking the community to pitch in and help.

The women are asking for donations of new toys (minimum value of $10), gift cards and gift sets, along with an urgent need for hygiene items.

The group is accepting donations of soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and any monetary donations received will go toward purchasing the toiletries.

Donations may be dropped off at the DA’s Office, located at 120 E. Chickasaw in Sallisaw. Items can be delivered either upstairs on the second floor, downstairs, or left with security at the front entrance.

There is no need to wrap any of the items, the women will do that for you.

The gifts will then be distributed to local schools before students leave for holiday break.
