Funeral services for Bertha Lea (Barnes) Farmer, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at Vision of The Way in Roland.
Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Farmer was born on Dec. 4, 1947, in the Northview community, to Martha Irene (Asbill) Barnes and James Edward Barnes. She died on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.
She married Robert Dewayne Farmer on June 19, 1965, in Shady Grove. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2004.
She retired from Weldon, Williams and Lick and was an active member at Vision of the Way in Roland. She worked as a substitute teacher, embraced the joy of quilting with the Cozy Quilters, and dedicated time to the Muldrow Library Board and MCCO.
Survivors are a daughter, Sherri Bishop and husband Brandon of Muldrow; son, Eddie Farmer and wife Dana of Muldrow; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Davis and husband Vernon of Muldrow and Kim Brown of Fort Smith; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Paul Edward Barnes.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Farmer, Brandon Bishop, Garrett Bishop, Blake Farmer, Mike Davis, and Tony Floyd.
