Roland Lady Rangers softball player Addyson Clark made the All-District 3A-6 Team and the All-Region 4 Team, the latter making her a candidate for being named to the 2025 Oklahoma Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association’s East All-State.
Now, it’s time to show what Clark can do at the next level.
Clark signed a letter of intent with Carl Albert State College on Friday morning inside the Roland High School commons area.
It came down to two teams, CASC or Connors State College. It was the homey feeling she felt when she got to the Poteau junior college that she has enjoyed at Roland that made Clark choose to play college softball for the Lady Vikings.
“Walking in there and seeing that it looked like it was family, not saying that Connors State wasn’t, felt and looked like Roland,” Clark said. “That’s why I loved it.”
“She has a lot of talent on the field,” CASC softball coach Lexi Watson said. “She can play multiple positions. At the end of the day, I was just looking for good people, and she checked all the boxes in that category. We’re just really excited to have her. All in all, Addy is a really good kid. We’re excited to have her.”
“You are always happy about your players who dream about playing at the next level,” Roland softball coach Albis Ramos said. “For Addy going to Carl Albert, it’s very exciting. Working hard during the summers, traveling with her parents and with us at the high school, has paid off. She’s done what we’ve asked her to do. It’s exciting for us, and I’m excited for her family. Parents spend a lot of money, and the results come out. She signed (Friday morning). I’m excited for her. This is a very exciting and proud day for Roland fastpitch softball to see one of your players sign. We always get excited for that, and excited for the program.”
It also helped that the drive to the CASC-Poteau campus isn’t far, and it also helped just being on campus itself that led to Clark wishing to sign with the Lady Vikings.
“The drive and everything leading up to getting in that room and making that decision, it just felt amazing,” Clark said. “I loved it. I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”
“She won’t be too far from home, so her parents can come out and watch her play at our home events,” Watson said. “We don’t travel very far. Our longest drives are about five hours, so they can attend most of the away games.”
Watson sees Clark making an immediate impact once she arrives on campus.
“I see her making immediate contributions, especially at shortstop,” Watson said. “That’s where she’s going to be. She also is very versatile as well. We’ll try her at second base, but she’s also willing to try other positions as well. That’s what really drew me to her.”
“I want to get there and start immediately,” Clark said. “I don’t want to sit and wait around. I want to get there and do what I can.”
“She was great for us,” Ramos said. “I hate to lose her. I wish I had a player like her every year, but the great thing is she will go on and do bigger and better things.”
