Roland Lady Rangers seeking third straight trip to state tournament
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

The Roland Lady Rangers are hoping for the third straight season that their final game will take place in the Class 3A State Tournament.

The Lady Rangers, who were 22-6 last season, lost for the second straight season in the Class 3A State Tournament quarterfinals, losing 47-41 to No. 1 Washington.

At the 2024 Class 3A State Tournament quarterfinals, the Lady Rangers suffered a 45-37 loss to Norman Community Christian School.

This season, the Lady Rangers are looking to not only get to the Class 3A State Tournament for the third straight season, they are hoping to at least get one win at the ultimate high school basketball tournament.

The Lady Rangers return seven players from a season ago, with one senior — Molly Carver.

Juniors back are Halle Freeman, Lillian Cole and Ryanne Nelke, while Adriana Moya, Cadence Cole and Laynie Roedenbeck are among the returning sophomores.

Rounding out the roster for third-year coach Scott Nelke are Kinlee Burger, Jazmin Pettit, Payton Sampley, Karsyn Serjeant and Kaia Cantrell.
