The Muldrow Cherokee Community Organization (MCCO) had the privilege of honoring some local veterans with a warm breakfast and heartfelt gratitude for their service.
The organization wishes to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Followell for making all the delicious pancakes, Bryan McKenzie for stepping in and cooking all the eggs, and Amber Stewart for helping with the sausage and fruit.
Thank you to McKenzie Chaser for serving everyone with such kindness, and to Dee Merrill and Pat Martin for cracking 15 dozen eggs.
A big shoutout as well to Donna Edwards, Tracy McKenzie and Kay Ross for jumping in and doing everything else that needed to be done.
And, thank you to Mrs. Owens for coming and helping out, too.
Each veteran was served a hot breakfast, and received handwritten thank you letters, American pins and pens, a special thankyou coin, and a food box to take home.
The center also had four beautiful quilts donated by the talented quilt ladies; what a touching gesture of appreciation.
It was a morning filled with gratitude, community and love for those who have served our country.
