The Muldrow Public School Board of Education worked through a full agenda on Nov. 10, approving the district’s 2025–26 budget, setting next year’s meeting dates, and taking steps toward lighting upgrades for multiple athletic facilities.
The board began by approving the consent agenda, which included October meeting minutes; general fund encumbrances totaling $40,997.55; payroll encumbrances of $24,629.85; financial reports; and fundraiser requests. Two substitutes, Shila Alvarez and Cade Armer, were also approved for the 2025–26 school year.
Site principals John Black, Joe Phillips and David Thomas each presented their 2024–25 school report cards and test score summaries. They also shared attendance data from the October 14– 15 parent-teacher conferences.
Superintendent Angela Williams reviewed the district’s November calendar and provided the First Quarter Statistical Report, which covered data through Oct. 10. Williams also noted the board’s plan for an earlier meeting time in December.
At 6:42 p.m., the board entered executive session to discuss hiring for a special education position. They returned to open session at 7:12 p.m.
Budget, stipends approved
Williams presented the full 2025–26 district budget, recommending removal of temporary appropriations now that final figures are in place. The board voted unanimously to approve the updated budget.
The board unanimously approved its regular meeting schedule for 2026.
Certified and support staff will receive a $250 stipend following unanimous board approval. The stipend is intended as a one-time payment.
A list of unused science department items from the high school was approved as surplus, clearing the way for disposal or sale.
The board unanimously approved revisions to several district policies, including BBF, BEC, CKAK, CKAK-E, GBA-E and GJ-E.
The district will seek public bids for new lighting at the baseball, football and softball fields. The measure passed unanimously and marks the first step in pursuing upgrades for outdoor sports facilities.
