Funeral services for Gary Joe Christie, 55, of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at the House of Praise in Marble City.
Burial was at Marble City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Christie was born on Feb. 8, 1970, in Tahlequah to George Christie and Polly (Locust) Christie. He died on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, in Sallisaw.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, attending family gatherings and dinners. He enjoyed making people laugh.
Survivors include four sisters, Donna and Tex Pettit of Marble City, Marilyn and Richard Smith of Vian, Carol and Sam Thurairajah of Fort Smith, Ark., and Georgia Ann and Shane Fields of Muskogee; four brothers, Elvis and Carol Christie of Uniontown, Ark., and George Jr. Christie, Billy Christie and Larry and Tina Christie, all of Sallisaw; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers were Shawn Christie, Dustin Ball, Elijah Ball, Jarren Ball, Johnny Christie and Jacob Christie.
