Rejoice – Pray Without Ceasing

Rejoice – Pray Without Ceasing
By Shirley R. Watts

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1Thess 5:16-18). “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; (Rom 12:12).

Let’s celebrate “Jesus Christ” make a new commitment to prayer. Prayer is the key to everything in the Christian life. Without prayer all fails. Every Christian must have a prayer life…never allowing the line to God to become cluttered with sin…the sin of neglecting to pray or any other sin.

Jesus. the Son of God spent much time in prayer as He sought God’s will. Prayer is the will of God! Prayer that is humble and sincere is true worship. Prayer brings rejoicing in Him!

Christian, what is your prayer life like? How often do you spend specific time in prayer to God? With all that is happening here in our own Nation and around the world, we must find “time” to pray. This is the “time” to stop and think about what Jesus Christ really means to us.

If the True Church (Born agains) are not praying, then we can’t complain about what the devil is doing today. Prayer will stop him in his tracks! The Church has access to the power! Let’s get serious! Pray!

We are called to “pray without ceasing,” always a prayer in mind and heart seeking God’s leadership, always in touch with God. “Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice” (Psalm 55:17).

Jesus said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:12-15). Let’s “believe” Him! Pray!

This is the “day” to declare Jesus Christ. Our uniting in prayer will honor Him and we can truly rejoice. Denominational issues must be set aside as we kneel in prayer. Heaven is not a “denominational” city! It is a Jesus City where He rules and we all worship Him together.

God does answer prayer! We need a prayer spirit. We need prayer power! The Holy Spirit will lead, guide and direct us in prayer. He will bring us into the presence of God. He knows the will of God and when we allow him His place in our lives, we will prayer according to God’s will and we will as Jesus said, receive what we ask. There will be true rejoicing…not a religious pretense of joy.

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Rom 8:26-27).

God will not refuse the prayer that is led by the Holy Spirit because the Spirit prays God’s will. “Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear” (Ps 10:17).

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit” (James 5:17-18).

Today we need God to rain upon this Earth His power. We need more Elijah’s!!!

Christian, what do you pray about? Let us be “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” (Romans 12:12).

Today is the day to rejoice as never before. We are closer to eternity each day. Let’s claim His promises of power through prayer. Let us submit all to Him, repent of sin, hating evil and praying that God is glorified.

Celebrate Jesus Christ! Rejoice! Pray without ceasing!

Rejoice, rejoice and rejoice forever! Amen!
