Around 70 teams competed at Indian Capital Technology Center’s (ICTC) Sallisaw Campus on Oct. 30, for the 8th annual Construction Trades “You Build It” competition, in honor of Construction Careers Awareness month.

Competing teams worked together to build popsicle stick structures according to the theme. The contest was open to any Sequoyah county resident in grades sixth through eighth. The theme this year was “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

Participating schools were Moffett, Roland, Muldrow, Central, Brushy, Sallisaw and Marble City. Students had the month of October to work together to build their structures before bringing them to compete.
