MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Muldrow Lady Bulldogs basketball player Kennedi “Kiki” Wight was a winner in her first-ever college regular- season basketball game on Saturday as she and the University of the Ozarks Eagles won their season opener and made new coach Seth McDowell a winner in his debut as the Eagles defeated Westminster College 84-66 on Saturday in the Rhodes College Classic.
The Eagles (1-0) virtually led wire-to-wire, leading 25-13 after a quarter, 48-28 at the half and 72-44 after three periods.
Wight had 11 points and five rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Wight and the Eagles will return to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday as they will entertain Southwestern, Kan., in their home opener.
