Muldrow Elementary School honored the men and women in blue this year with a pumpkin decorating contest to raise money to “Back the Blue.” The money raised will be used to provide an appreciation lunch for area officers.
Each classroom chose one winning pumpkin to send to the final round of the competition. The winning pumpkins from each class faced off against each other in a “Battle for the Blue.”
In the final round, the winning pumpkin was determined by “quarter voting” – the pumpkin that raised the most money at school will win a cookie cake party for their classroom.
Pumpkin contest winners were as follows: First: Maebry Reeves, fourth grade, cactus Second: Hadlee Day, PK-3, police officer (shown at left) Third: Murphy Kennedy, PK-4, white pumpkin with glitter A total of $230.24 was raised.
