Late Stigler score dooms playoff hopes for Muldrow Bulldogs
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

STIGLER — A lastsecond Stigler touchdown enabled the Panthers to nip the Muldrow Bulldogs 26-25 in a District 3A-3 game last Friday night.

The loss eliminated the ’Dogs (4-5 overall, 1-5 in district play), who now have lost five straight games, from playoff contention.

Trailing 25-20 after Muldrow senior quarterback Teaguen Collins scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 3:06 left to play, the Panthers (3-6, 2-4) snatched away the win from the jaws of defeat when Brylar Honeycutt hit Landon Blizzard on a 7-yard TD pass with six seconds remaining to play.

The Bulldogs scored first on a 20-yard touchdown run by Collins with 9:02 left in the first quarter to give Muldrow a 6-0 lead.

The Panthers took a 7-6 lead at halftime when Honeycutt hit Graham Easttom on a 21-yard TD pass with 7:46 left in the first half. Brandon Lopez hit the extra point.

The Panthers extended their lead when Morgan Peery scored on a 29-yard touchdown run with 9:42 left in the third quarter to take a 13-6 lead.

The ’Dogs tied the game at 13-all after three quarters when Collins scored his second rushing TD of the night, taking it in from 40 yards out. Wyatt Prewett kicked the PAT.

The Panthers regained the lead on Honeycutt’s first touchdown pass of the night to Blizzard, this one a 14-yarder. Lopez’s extra point put Stigler on top 20-13 with 11:53 left to play in the game.

The Bulldogs scored two straight TDs to retake the lead. Collins hit J’Vion Mays on a 48yard touchdown pass with 6:45 remaining in the game. Prewett missed the PAT, keeping the ’Dogs behind 20-19.

Just over three minutes later, Collins scored what looked to be the game-winning TD on a 1-yard run with 3:06 left in the game. The twopoint conversion failed, but the Bulldogs had a 25-20 lead.

The ’Dogs will conclude the 2025 football season with a 7 p.m. road district game against the Locust Grove Pirates.
