Brushy Wrestling Club members compete in Tahlequah Open

TAHLEQUAH — Several Brushy Wrestling Club members competed in Saturday’s Tahlequah Open.

Liliana Guerrero won two titles as she went undefeated in both the girls 62-67 pound class in the girls age 10-andyounger division and the 62-67 pound class in the girls age 8-andyounger.

In the age 10-andyounger division, Guerrero got a 12-0 major decision over Bartlesville Wrestling Club’s Brinley Carter and pinned Raw Wrestling Club’s Norah Winkle in 4:03, pinned Bartlesville Wrestling Club’s Adley Cunningham in 31 seconds and pinned Hurricane Wrestling Academy’s Emyle Thompson 25 seconds.

In the age 8-andyounger division, Guerrero pinned Hurricane Wrestling Academy’s Jolene Chuculate in 29 seconds and pinned Salina Wrestling Club’s Layla Waldeck in 16 seconds.

In the girls age 15-and-younger division, Hayley Bentley pinned Tahlequah Middle School’s Joplin Sherrick in 2:41, pinned Tulsa Blue T Panthers wrestler Maddie Burkhart in 2:01 and pinned Warner Youth’s Brinlee Wooten in 4:02.

Kutter Means went 3-1 in the 80-pound class in the the 10-andyounger division. After losing 7-0 to Savina Burgo, he pinned Bartlesville Wrestling Club’s Lloyd Gregston in 4:15, pinned Locust Grove Youth Wrestling’s Hayden Williams in 3:40 and pinned Locust Grove Youth Wrestling’s Reilas Sanchez in 1:54.

Rylan Henry went 2-1 in two different divisions.

In the age 12-andyounger division, he went 2-1 at 88 pounds as he pinned Mojo Grappling Academy’s Johnathon Primeaux in 42 seconds, lost 9-7 to Raw Wrestling Club’s Chase Gabbard II and def. Tiger Trained Wrestling’s Kacy Purmal 20-13.

In the 10-and-younger division, Henry also went 2-1 at 85-90 pounds as he pinned Verdigris Youth Wrestling’s Owen Schiltz in 1:10, was pinned by Tulsa Blue T Panthers wrestler Crew Card in 49 seconds and pinned Salina Wrestling Club’s Beau Fisher in 4:09.

At 115-140 pounds in the girls age 10-andyounger division, McKynlee Cantrell went 2-1 as she pinned Wagoner Takedown Club’s Marilynn Edwards in 40 seconds, was pinned by Salina Wrestling Club’s Hadliee Peters in 2:30, pinned Brushy Wrestling Club’s Jessie Bentley in 21 seconds.

In the 115-140 pound class in the girls age 10-and-younger division, Jesse Bentley went 1-2 as she was pinned by Peters in 42 seconds, pinned Wagoner Takedown Club’s Marilynn Edwards in 37 seconds and was pinned by Cantrell.

Gracie Schneider split her two matches at 102 pounds in the girls age 15-and-younger division as she was pinned by Tulsa Blue T Panthers wrestler Adrianne Halapy in 2:25 before pinning Tulsa Blue T Panthers wrestler Khloe Carey in 1:25.

At 70-74 pounds in the girls age 10-andyounger division, Avie Lamp went 1-2 as she lost a 12-4 major decision to Tahlequah Wrestling Club’s Arihana Gifford and lost a 9-1 major decision to Tulsa Blue T Panthers wrestling Gracie Card before pinning Tahlequah Wrestling Club’s April Freeman in 34 seconds.

Stonewall Coombes lost all four of his matches at 100-105 pounds in the age 12-and-younger division as he was pinned by Salina Wrestling Club’s Benjamin Fisher in 1:52, lost 10-3 to Spartan Wrestling Fort Smith’s Jack Westlake, was pinned by Grove Takedown Club’s Noah Zumwalt in 26 seconds and suffered an 18-0 technical-fall loss to Salina Wrestling Club’s Stephen Praetor.
