Funeral services for Cecil Wise “C.W.” Sherer Jr., 95, of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, Ala.
Burial was at New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora under the direction of Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Sherer was born on Nov. 18, 1929, in Oakman, Ala., to Cecil Wise Sherer Sr. and Martha Faye (Skaggs) Sherer. He died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, in Muldrow.
He was a career naval officer, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Survivors include one son, Donald and Linda Sherer; one grandson; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Sherer; son, James Sherer; and a grandson.
