A Muldrow woman was injured last Friday morning in a three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 59 in Sequoyah County, according to a report issued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
Troopers said the crash occurred around 8:55 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and County Road E. 1050 when two vehicles were traveling northbound and one vehicle was heading southbound.
According to the OHP report, a vehicle driven by Bertha Rutherford, 39, of Muldrow, was northbound behind another northbound vehicle that had stopped to turn left onto E. 1050. Troopers said Rutherford was not paying attention and rear-ended the stopped vehicle.
Debris from the impact struck a third vehicle traveling southbound, damaging its windshield, according to troopers.
Rutherford was injured in the crash and transported for medical treatment. She was reportedly wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision.
The report states Rutherford told troopers she had looked away from the roadway, and when she looked up, it was too late to stop.
The collision was investigated by Trooper Spencer Schmille of OHP Troop C.
