By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

Back-to-back losses in the Class 3A Regional Tournament on Thursday in Chandler ended the fast-pitch softball season for the Roland Lady Rangers.

After splitting their final two regular-season games as the Lady Rangers lost 2-1 in 10 innings to Wister on Sept. 29 and blanked Stilwell 8-0 on Sept. 29, they beat Sequoyah-Claremore 5-2 on Thursday in the Class 3A Regional Tournament, only to lose back-to-back games in the regional — falling 10-0 to regional-host Chandler and 5-1 to Sequoyah- Claremore — to see their season come to and end.

The Lady Rangers finished the season at 14-15.

In the loss to Wister in the Lady Rangers’ home finale, the Lady Wildcats broke a 1-all tie with a run in the 10th inning.

In the win over Stilwell, Cooper threw a five-hitter as she struck out five batters in five innings.

The Lady Rangers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning, then a run in the second inning and a two-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Kyleigh Knapp was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and a run scored, Aubriana Gragg was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Clark doubled and scored once and Paisley Davis tripled with two RBIs and a run scored for Roland.

In the regional-tournament win over Sequoyah- Claremore, the Lady Rangers broke a 2-all tie with a three-run sixth inning.

For the game, Cooper doubled with an RBI, Clark tripled with two runs scored and an RBI, Knapp singled with an RBI, Serjeant singled with an RBI and a run scored and Lillian Cole singled with an RBI for Roland. Cooper got the win as she threw a fourhitter.

The Lady Lions gave Allen all the run support needed with a four-run first inning. Chandler then added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings and four runs in the seventh inning.

In defeat, Moya and Laynie Roedenbeck each singled for Roland.

Cooper took the loss, going the first three innings. Knapp went the final four innings.

In the season-ending loss to Sequoyah-Claremore, the Lady Eagles rallied from a 1-0 second-inning deficit with a three-run third inning and a two-run fifth inning.
