It was a rough week of softball last week for the Roland Lady Rangers as they lost all three games played.
The week started with a road District 3A-6 loss to the host Sequoyah-Tahlequah Lady Indians by the score of 10-0 in six innings on Sept. 15, then the Lady Rangers lost their home district game 11-0 in five innings to Westville on Sept. 16 before losing a 7-2 road game to Pocola last Wednesday.
In the district loss to Sequoyah-Tahlequah, the Lady Rangers (1012 overall, 3-6 in District 3A-6 play) were four-hit by Lady Indians’ pitching.
The Lady Indians, who led 1-0 after an inning, scored three runs in the third inning and five runs in the fourth inning for a 9-0 lead. A run in the sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Aubriana Gragg, Adriana Moya, Kyleigh Knapp and Karsyn Serjeant each singled for Roland.
McKinna Cooper (10-12) took the loss, going the first four innings. Knapp went the final inning.
In the district loss to Westville, Westville pitcher Brandi Cavin three-hit the Lady Rangers.
The Lady Yellowjackets put away the game with a seven-run first inning.
In defeat, Gragg, Sarjeant and Cooper each singled for Roland. Cooper took the loss.
In the loss to Pocola, the Lady Indians broke a 2-all tie with a threerun fifth inning and a two-run sixth inning.
In defeat, Addyson Clark was 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in, Serjeant was 2-for-3 and Lillian Cole hit her first home run of the season for the Lady Rangers. Cooper suffered the loss.
