Muldrow fall in walk-off fashion to Gore after splitting with district foe Stigler
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs almost got a road win on Sept. 16 at Gore, only to see the Lady Pirates score four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to down the Lady Bulldogs 8-7.

The week started with a District 4A-6 home split with the Stigler Lady Panthers on Sept. 15, winning the nightcap 10-0 in five innings after losing the opener 4-1.

Thursday’s road game at Panama was rained out and likely will not be rescheduled.

In the win over Stigler, Young (5-5) threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts.

The Lady Bulldogs scored twice in the second inning to give Young all the run support needed. They put the game into run-rule status with a five-run fourth inning and a three-run fifth inning.

For the game, Haven Nickson was 4-for-4 with a double, three runs batted in and a run scored, Raegan Newbern was 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored, Young was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Amarie Duran doubled with two runs scored for the Lady Bulldogs (1210 overall, 6-4 in district play).

In the loss to Stigler, the Lady Panthers broke a scoreless game with a run in the fourth inning and three-run fifth inning for a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs scored once in the sixth inning on Young’s RBI double, scoring Jaydin Dean. However, they got no closer.

In defeat, Young hit an RBI double, Dean singled and scored once and Aliyah Duran and Noelia Parga each singled for Muldrow.

Dean (7-5) took the loss, getting three strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Young got the final two outs.

In the loss to Gore, after the Lady Bulldogs broke a 4-all tie with a three-run seventh inning, the Lady Pirates responded with a fourrun seventh inning, with the game-winning hit being a two-out, RBI single by Gore catcher Kylie McEver.

In defeat, Young was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, Jaela Grayson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Aliyah Duran doubled with three RBIs and a run scored for Muldrow.

Young was the hardluck loser, going 6.2 innings with 10 strikeouts.
