John Junior Gibbins

Oct. 23, 1931 – Sept. 12, 2025

Funeral services for John Junior Gibbins, 93, of Van Buren, Ark., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

Burial was at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Gibbons was born on Oct. 23, 1931, in Sallisaw to John E. Gibbins and Sarah (Burns) Gibbins. He died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, in Van Buren.

He served as a n Army recruiter until retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy and John Murry of Baxter Springs, Mo., and Karen Blackbourn of Bartlesville; one son, Tommy and Janie Gibbins of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John Gibbins and Brian Gibbins; three sisters, Faye Corbell, Irene Hughes and Lois Nunn; and four brothers, Carl, Walter, Eugene and R.L. Gibbins.
