The Gans Lady Grizzlies split their only games of the week last week as they routed Indianola 13-0 in three innings but lost 6-0 to Haileyville on Sept. 16 at home.
In the win over Indianola, the Lady Grizzlies got a combined no-hitter from starting pitcher Abigail Leach and reliever Nora Barnea.
Leach (2-10) got the win, going the first two innings with four strikeouts, while Barnea got the rare four-strikeout inning in the third inning to close things out.
The Lady Grizzlies scored six runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.
For the contest, Barnea was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two runs batted in, while Leach was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Gans.
In the loss to Haileyville, the Lady Grizzlies were two-hit, with those hits being a single apiece by Brighton Dorsey and Yasenia Gaona.
The Lady Warriors had three two-run innings, one each in the second, fourth and fifth innings.
Leach suffered the loss, despite fanning 11 batters in five innings.
After closing out the regular season Tuesday evening at home against McCurtain, the Lady Grizzlies will begin postseason play by traveling to meet the Red Oak Lady Eagles in the Class B District Tournament beginning at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. It will be the best-of-3 series, with the team which wins twice advancing to the regional tournament the following week.
