“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted” (Matt. 28:16-17).
Imagine going to the tomb of Jesus and meeting an angel there. The angel said; He is not here! He is risen! They were told to “go quickly” and” tell His disciples.” Jesus will meet you on the mountain near the Sea of Galilee.
Daily we must remember Jesus, His teachings, the cross, the empty tomb and “go quickly” telling others that He is alive! He is coming again! He will judge sin!
When was the last time you met Jesus on the mountain? When was the last time you gave thanks for your salvation.
There was fear, excitement and tears as they were on the way to Galilee. Jesus had made many memories with them on the Sea of Galilee. He spent much time on the mountain in prayer.
Let’s walk along with them. What are they feeling? Thinking? What will we say to Him? Peter had denied Him, they had slept when He asked them to pray, and they ran in all directions when He was arrested. But, they were remembering all that Jesus had taught them and the last night they spent with Him. Their hearts and minds full of questions and repentance. What would you feel at this time? We too, will meet Him in the Rapture.
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him. They were looking at the Risen Lord! What a day! What a worship service as they looked into His eyes filled with love and victory. They see His nail-scared hands and feet. Tears, joy, excitement and love filled the air that day.
We need worship services that reflect Jesus crucified, and the Resurrection. We need to constantly see the scars in His hands and feet. We too, must “go quickly” and tell others.
The worship service consisted of praise, prayer, joy, excitement and even those who doubted. We will always have those who doubt. But after a few minutes they fell on their faces and worshiped Him. Jesus loved them and came near and brought sweet fellowship. They looked at Him and saw the victory!
We can have the fellowship every day as we too remember and draw near to Him. As we look at His hands and feet, see the love in His eyes, telling us that He won the victory over sin.
Christians are free from the bondage of sin. We are victorious! What a Savior! Truly this was true worship.
When was the last time you worshiped Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? I am not talking about attending a service at church.
Who have you told about Jesus?
Let us kneel at the Cross, get up and walk to the empty Tomb of Jesus and listen to the angel and then “go quickly” telling all that He is risen from the dead! That He loves them and wants to save them.
Maybe you are a doubter. Why do you not believe? It is because Satan stands between you and the cross and does not allow you to see the love and empty tomb. Ask him what he believes, he will tell you that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Jesus defeated him at the cross. He will tell you that judgment is coming. He will confess that Jesus is the King of kings!
Jesus said: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
“While they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1).
Remember your mountain-top experience with Him. Then share it!
Make some “mountain” memories with Him.
