Read an Accurate Ag Book refers to reading a book about agriculture that portrays farming and food in a truthful and reliable way, avoiding unrealistic elements like talking animals or magical events. The goal of this annual event, particularly in Oklahoma, is to promote ag literacy among students by showing them the real world of food and fiber production and the diversity of agricultural careers. Roland FFA members volunteered to assist Mrs. Roedenbeck in the Upper Elementary library for Read an Accurate Ag Book last week. These members assisted with reading a library book that accurately portrays agriculture, helped facilitate an activity to go along with the book, and have meaningful interactions with those students.
