Roland Lady Rangers beat Central, Spiro, but fall to Keys

The Roland Lady Rangers went 2-1 last week at home, run-ruling Central 12-2 in four innings on Thursday night at home after getting a walk-off, eightinning 4-3 District 3A-6 victory over Spiro. However, the Lady Rangers lost their make-up home district game to Keys by the score of 7-2.

In Thursday’s win over Central, after falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Lady Rangers (6-7) scored three runs in the first inning, twice in the second inning and five runs in the third inning for a 10-1 lead after three innings. A two-run fourth inning ended the game as the contest reached run-rule status.

For the game, Kyleigh Knapp was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, Adriana Moya was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in, Paisley Davis was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored, Addyson Clark was 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored and Aubriana Gragg was 2-for-2 for Roland. McKinna Cooper (6-7) got the win.

In the district win over Spiro, after the Lady Bulldogs tied the game at 3-all in the sixth inning, the Lady Rangers (3-3 in district play) got a one-out RBI single by Davis to get the walkoff victory.

For the game, Davis was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and the gamewinning RBI single, Clark was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored and Karsyn Serjeant was 2-for-4 with a run scored for Roland.

Cooper got the win, striking out four batters in eight innings.

In the district loss to Keys, the Lady Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

The Lady Rangers cut their deficit to three runs on two occasions, the last time coming at 5-2 after six innings, but the Lady Cougars sealed the deal with a two-run seventh inning.

In defeat, Davis doubled and scored once, Clark singled with a run batted in, Moya singled and scored once and Serjeant and Laynie Roedenbeck each singled for Roland.

Cooper suffered the loss, getting two strikeouts in seven innings.
