It was a successful week in District 4A-6 play for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs who got two district wins last week at home, a 10-0, five-inning run-rule win over Sallisaw on Sept. 2 and a 12-3 victory over Idabel on Thursday — the latter was a make-up from an Aug. 14 rainout.
In the win over Sallisaw, Muldrow pitcher Kaydence Young (2-3) threw a two-hitter and struck out four batters and only allowed two runners to get into scoring position.
The Lady Bulldogs (7-6 overall, 4-2 in district play) scored once in the first inning and twice in the third inning, but put away the game with a six-run fourth inning. Noelia Parga’s RBI single in the fifth inning scored Young to walk it off for Muldrow as the game reached run-rule status.
For the game, Young and Amarie Duran each were 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, while Jaydin Dean was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in and a run scored for Muldrow.
In Thursday’s victory over Idabel, after the Lady Warriors cut their deficit to 4-3 in the fourth inning, the Lady Bulldogs put away the game with a four-run fourth inning, a threerun fifth inning and a run in the sixth inning.
For the contest, Dean was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, Raegan Newbern was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Aliyah Duran was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, Parga was 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs and Young doubled with two runs scored and an RBI for Muldrow.
