A memorial service for Scott Richard Miller, 53, formerly of Sallisaw, was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Miller was born on Oct. 5, 1971, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Richard Miller and Janet (Richardson) Miller. He passed away on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025 at his home in Fort Smith, Ark.

He joined the Oklahoma National Guard as a junior and returned to Sallisaw for his senior year. He was an avid wrestler, and played baseball, soccer and football. He made his career as a first assistant scrub tech, working with the orthopedic surgeons in Fort Smith, for over 20 years. He was also past member of the American Legion Carnie Welch Post 27 in Sallisaw and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors are a son, Ryan Miller and Amanda of Fort Smith; daughter, Jordan Edge and Tyler of Fort Smith; his father, of Sallisaw; sister, Nancy Miller of Sallisaw; one grandson; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother, Sam “Charlie” Miller.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Legion Carnie Welch Post 27 in Sallisaw.
