Roland Lady Rangers suffer through winless week

The Roland Lady Rangers are entering this week on a fourgame losing streak after losing all four games played last week.

The Lady Rangers opened the week with a 10-0 road District 3A-6 loss to the Westville Lady Yellowjackets on Aug. 18, then lost their home game 8-1 to the Sequoyah-Tahlequah Lady Indians on Aug. 19.

At the two-day Warner Tournament to end the week, the Lady Rangers lost 7-0 to Lexington on Thursday and fell 2-0 to Kiefer on Friday.

In the loss to West-ville, Westville pitcher Jenna Williams threw a six-inning three-hitter with seven strikeouts.

The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, and a four-run sixth inning put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Kyleigh Knapp doubled, while Adriana Moya and Karsyn Serjeant each singled for the Lady Rangers (3-6 overall, 1-2 in District 3A-6 play). McKinna Cooper (3-6) took the loss.

In the loss to Sequoyah- Tahlequah, the Lady Indians scored single runs in the second and the third innings to break a scoreless tie for a 2-0 lead. A tworun fourth inning and a four-run fifth inning upped their advantage to 8-0.

The lone run for the Rangers scored their lone run on Addyson Clark’s RBI single in the fifth inning.

In defeat, Clark was 3-for-4 with a run batted in, while AMoya doubled for Roland.

Cooper suffered the loss, despite fanning three batters in five innings. Kyleigh Knapp went the final two innings in relief.

In the loss to Lexington, the Lady Rangers were three-hit as Knapp doubled and Cooper and Paisley Davis each singled for Roland.

In the loss to Kiefer, the Lady Trojans broke a scoreless tie with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
