The Gans Lady Grizzlies, who were 8-16 last fall, will be a youthful bunch with potential for the 2025 fast-pitch softball season, which started at last week’s Leflore Tournament.
The Lady Grizzlies have only one senior, outfielder/catcher Makenzy Hunter.
Infielder/outfielder Taylor Barger and shortstop/ pitcher Nora Barnea are the lone juniors.
The Lady Grizzlies will have a trio of sophomores — pitcher Abigail Leach, second baseman/ outfielder Yasenia Gaona and third baseman/ outfielder Maria Silos.
Just less than half of the squad will be freshmen — catcher/infielder Audrie Moody, outfielders Gracie Ohler and KrisLynn Martin, first baseman/outfielder Bella Powers and first baseman/third baseman Valan Harper.
“We are a young team, and I expect to see substantial growth throughout the season,” said Gans coach Jacklyn Green, who is beginning her second year at the helm. “We’re ready to get on the field and five it all we’ve got.”
