Muldrow Lady Bulldogs seeking success in 2025
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs are looking to improve upon last fall’s 10-19 record as they take the diamond this fall, which began with a road three-way with Broken Bow at Idabel — both District 4A-6 foes — on Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs will return seven players from last fall’s squad, with three of them being seniors — pitcher/second baseman Jaydin Dean (who batted .226 last fall), third baseman Amaya Duran (.217) and pitcher/second baseman Kaydence Young (.292).

The lone junior this fall is catcher/utility player Amarie Duran, who led the Lady Bulldogs last fall with a .341 hitting average.

Three sophomores returning the varsity squad this fall are outfielder/ infielder Raegen Newbern (.250 batting average last fall) and outfielders Kesslyn Pratt and Kynlee Thomas.

Three other players who likely will see some playing time this fall will be sophomore first baseman/catcher Noelia Parga, freshman outfielder/catcher Haven Nickson and freshman shortstop Aliyah Duran.

Rounding out the roster are Key-Lee Thompson, Haven Nickson, Madden Barnes, Jaela Grayson, Taelynn Williams, Maddi Williams and Cherish Atkerson.

“This team will have strong leadership,” said Muldrow coach Luke Folkerts, beginning his fourth year at the helm. “My three seniors have played a ton of games in their careers and will be great examples to a good young group of girls. We are a team sprinkled with experience and youth. Our district (District 4A6) is tough and loaded with talent and great coaches. If we can give both of our pitchers some run support, we have a chance to have a great season.”

The district will have a new look as Fort Gibson and Checotah are gone, and Idabel and Eufaula have been added.
