The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is holding a final project meeting to present the Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) and all necessary supporting data for the rehabilitation of Floodwater Retarding Structure (FWRS) Sallisaw Creek 36 in Sequoyah County.
Affected individuals, government agencies and private organizations are invited to attend.
The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at the Indian Capital Technology Center Sallisaw Campus, 401 E Houser Blvd.
During the meeting, you will be able to review exhibits describing the Preferred Alternative, existing conditions, resource concerns and evaluations laid out in the Plan-EA.
There will be no formal presentations, so those interested in attending can come and go at their convenience. NRCS staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.
NRCS is providing a 30-day period to provide written comments on the Plan-EA and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The public comment period begins Aug. 12 and ends on Sept. 12.
