After 35 years of serving the Muldrow community, Piggly Wiggly officially closed its doors on Saturday, August 2.
Store manager Brian Owens reflected on the decision, calling it the end of a significant chapter.
“Life has a way of keeping us moving, often pulling us in many directions without giving us time to pause. Over the past several years, we’ve felt that more than ever,” Owens said prior to the closure. “After 35 years of sacking groceries and serving the community, we made the decision to step back and close this chapter.”
Owens expressed deep gratitude to the store’s loyal customers over the decades.
“We are so grateful for every one of our customers over the years—from those who stopped in daily just to say hello, to those who have passed before us. Your support, kindness and loyalty meant more to us than words can say,” he said.
In the days leading up to the closure, store hours were adjusted to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and remaining inventory was offered at steep discounts.
“Thank you for being such a meaningful part of our journey. We’ll never forget the memories made here,” Owens added.
Piggly Wiggly was located at 1001 E. Shawntel Smith Blvd. in Muldrow.
