A deadly three-vehicle collision on Interstate-40 early Sunday morning claimed the life of a Florida man and led to the arrest of a Sallisaw woman on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to an accident report issued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
The crash reportedly occurred around 1:35 a.m. on westbound I-40 near mile marker 317, near Muldrow.
Troopers said Cambre L. Wright, 20, of Sallisaw, was later arrested on aggravated driving under the influence (DUI) charges. Wright was not injured in the crash.
One of the vehicles, driven by Linda A. Mager, 66, of Fruitland Park, Fla. and her passenger, John H. Beahn, 69, also of Fruitland Park, were both injured in the collision. Beahn reportedly died despite life-saving efforts. Mager was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The second vehicle was operated by Natalie J. Finley, 30, of Oklahoma City. Finley was not injured.
The circumstances surrounding how the crash unfolded are still under investigation as of press time.
