As summer winds down and Oklahoma students prepare to go back to school, Shape Your Future, a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), is offering free resources for educators and families to start the year off right.
Shape Your Future offers teachers free classroom posters shipped at no cost, grade-specific elementary worksheets, fun and seasonal classroom activity sheets, helpful blogs and videos for active brain breaks. Educators can also subscribe to the Shape Your Future teacher newsletter at ShapeYourFutureOK. com/teachers. This monthly email is tailored for teachers and packed with tips to support healthier habits for students and educators, at school and at home.
Parents and guardians serve as role models for their children, but heading back to school can be a big adjustment for many families. ShapeYourFutureOK. com is here to help families get back into the routine of healthy habits after a long summer break. Small things like preparing healthy breakfasts, packing lunches that fuel kids and gradually incorporating a good sleep schedule before school starts can make a huge difference.
“We want Oklahoma families and school staff to feel confident and prepared to start the school year with healthy routines and accessible choices,” Julie Bisbee, TSET’s executive director, said. “Even small healthy changes at home can build a strong foundation for success and help students feel their best.”
