Central Schools announces school arrival, pick-up procedures

Central Public Schools has announced school arrival and pickup procedures for the 2025-26 school year.

PK-3, PK-4, Kindergarten

All PK-3 and PK-4 students will enter through the early childhood building no earlier than 7:30 a.m. and no later than 8:15 a.m. Kindergarten students will enter through the early childhood building no earlier than 7:15 a.m. and no later than 8:15 a.m.

Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. must report to the office.

First – sixth grades

All students in grades first through sixth will enter through the cafeteria no earlier than 7:15 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. must report to the office.

After dismissal from the cafeteria, these students will go outside to their designated area.

On bad weather days, students will be dismissed to the FEMA building, and first through sixth grade students will be dismissed to their first hour classroom at 8 a.m.

After school pick-up

The lane closest to the cafeteria will be designated for fourth through sixth grade students to be picked up. The middle lane will be designated for first through third grade students, and the far lane nearest the road will be designated for Kindergarten, PK-3 and PK-4 students. If you have more than one child, use the lane of your oldest child.

Dismissal times

PK-3 and PK-4: 2:45 p.m.

Kindergarten: 3 p.m. First, second and third grade: 3:10 p.m.

Fourth, fifth and sixth grade: 3:15 p.m.

PK-3 through Kindergarten parents will park in their lane, come to the cafeteria to get their child, return to their vehicle, and then exit the premises. First through sixth grade parents should remain in their car and their child/ children will be escorted to them by a teacher.

Every parent will be required to pull up to the next available spot in their designated lane while waiting for their child/children. Parents of students in grades first through sixth will exit the premises from their lane or the lane to the right of them, if available. Parents of multiple-aged children will always go to the oldest child’s pick-up line. For example, if a parent has a child in PK-3 and another child in fourth, the parent would need to get in the fourth grade line.

The parent should come to the cafeteria to get their PK-3 child, return to their car, and wait for their fourth grade child to be dismissed and brought to them.

For this plan to succeed, every teacher will dismiss their class at their designated time. Every parent should use their designated lane and be on time. Any parent arriving after 3:25 p.m. or requiring assistance from the office will park on the north side of the cafeteria and walk to the office.

No parking will be allowed on the west side of the cafeteria parking lot between 2:25 and 3:30 p.m.
