A Roland man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges stemming from a 2023 investigation.
Christopher R. Amund- 39, was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced this week.
The conviction followed a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Office. On June 1, 2023, officers executed a search warrant at Amundson’s residence and uncovered nearly half a pound of methamphetamine buried in the backyard.
Amundson pleaded guilty to the charge on Jan. 15, 2025. He was sentenced by U.S. District Chief Judge Ronald A. White and will serve his time in a federal facility without the possibility of parole. Until his transfer, he will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
