Roland Rangers freshman basketball player Damonte Owens was named to the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association’s All-Region 3 Basketball Team last week.

The Rangers went 25-3 this past season and made it to the Class 3A State Tournament quarterfinals, where they lost 78-45 to the Oklahoma City Millwood Falcons on March 13 at Oklahoma City’s Jim Norick State Fair Arena — the last time “The Big House” was to be used for state basketball tournaments after being used in that capacity for nearly six decades.

Owens also was named the 2024-25 NOAA Conference Boys Basketball Team’s Most Valuable Player.
