OHCE announces Quilt Show winners

Sequoyah County OHCE has announced the winners of its 44th annual quilt show, which was held at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds on April 4 and 5.

Those who attended the quilt show and bake sale on April 4 had the opportunity to purchase a home cooked meal for $12, deliciously prepared by OHCE members. The meal consisted of chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and various salads and desserts. Bake sale items included cakes, pies, cookies, and other tasty goods.

Proceeds from this annual event filter back into the community through local and county projects. The group makes tooth fairy pillows for Pre-K and Kindergarten students at seven different schools, helps the Gore and Vian nursing homes, conducts sewing classes, assists with Catholic Charities, and much more.

OHCE wishes to thank everyone who attended the quilt show and lunch, and to those who bought advertising or supported them in various ways. A special thanks goes out to all the volunteers for their help in making the show a success.

If you would like to participate next year, reach out to Donna Jamison at 918-774-8445 or Bev Covington at 918-774-2215.
