Muldrow baseball season ends with two regional tournament losses

The 2025 baseball season came to an end for the Muldrow Bulldogs on Saturday at the Class 4A Regional Tournament at North Rock Creek High School near Shawnee.

The Bulldogs lost to the regional-host Cougars 10-0 in five innings, then fell 12-2 in five innings to the Miami Wardogs.

It ended up being a winless week last week for the ’Dogs as the Gore Pirates spoiled Muldrow’s Senior Day for lone senior Jonah Claborn with a 4-1 victory on April 28 In the regional-tournament loss to North Rock Creek, the Bulldogs (5-24) were nohit.

The Cougars scored twice in the first inning, seven runs in the third inning and once in the fourth inning for a 10-0 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

Brody Israel (1-3) took the loss, going the first 2.1 innings. Wyatt Prewett went the final 1.2 innings with a strikeout.

In the season-ending loss to Miami, the Wardogs scored three runs in the first inning, once in the second inning, twice in the third inning and six runs in the fourth inning for a 12-0 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

The ’Dogs scored twice in the fourth inning to cut their deficit to 12-2 but got no closer.

In defeat, Hayden McKinster was 2-for-2 with a run batted in and a run scored for Muldrow.

Claborn (2-7) suffered the loss in his final appearance for the Bulldogs, despite fanning seven batters in 3.2 innings pitched. Jace Prewett went the final 1.1 innings with a strikeout.

Of Miami’s 12 runs, only five of them were earned as the other seven runs were due to Muldrow’s four errors.

In the regular-season finale against Gore, the Pirates rallied from a 1-0 fourth-inning deficit with a run in the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-all, then scored twice in the sixth inning and once in the seventh inning to complete the comeback victory — and spoil Senior Day for Claborn.

In defeat, Jace Prewett was 2-for-2, while Israel was 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs.

Jace Prewett (1-6) took the loss in relief, going two innings with four strikeouts. Claborn got the start and went the first four innings with six Ks. Jack Rhodes pitched the final inning.
