Local individuals, relay teams, Central Tigers’ mile relay win titles at Keys Invitational

PARK HILL — Roland long-distance runner Molly Carver, two Ranger relay teams, Central hurdler Braxin Goodson and the Central Tigers’ 1,600-meter relay team all claim gold medals at the Keys Invitational track meet, which took place April 29.

Carver won the 800-meter run (2:40.18), while coming in runnerup in the 1,600-meter (6:00) and the 3,200-meter runs (13:14.37).

The Rangers had three place in the long jump, including the champion as Paul Johnson won the event with a leap of 20-11. Teammates Uriah Phillips took second (20-1.5), followed by Damonte Owens in fourth place (18-1.5).

The Rangers won two of the four relay events. Phillips, Trevor Lasiter, Nate Criswell and Paul Johnson won the 400-meter relay (45.16 seconds), while Landon Killer, Mason Kemp, Owens and Josh Bower claimed gold for Roland in the 3,200-meter relay (9:07.23).

Goodson won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.63 seconds, with Roland’s Jack Johnson finishing third (48.73).

Central’s quartet of Gavin Randolph, Dillon Miller, Goodson and Noah Buzzard won the 1,600-meter relay (3:38.17), while the Roland foursome of Bower, Owens, Killer and Kemp was fifth (3:58.06). Central’s 800-meter relay team of Randolph, Jake Woods, Goodson and Buzzard was runner-up (1:35.77).

As for other local placers, Paris Campbell, Ryleigh Pierce, Scarlett Harrison and Cambree Bair were runners-up for Central in the 3,200-meter relay (11:18.88), while Campbell, Bair, Jhaselyn Gonzalez and Alyvia Warner were third (4:24.58) in the 1,600-meter relay.

Warner was runnerup in the 300-meter hurdles (50.12 seconds), while Warner was fourth (18.81) and Central’s Alexxus Bolin was sixth (20.49) in the 100-meter hurdles.

Central’s Charlie Petree was runner-up in both the discus (96-11) and the shot put (33-2).

Central’s quartet of Campbell, Keeley Poindexter, Bair and Warner was fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:55.11), while Gonzalez, Gracie Thompson, Poindexter and Kaitlin Clark were sixth in the 400-meter relay (56.95 seconds).

In the girls’ 400-meter dash, Bair was fourth (1:04.72), Roland’s Adriana Moya was sixth (1:07.74), Campbell was 11th (1:09.77) and Harrison was 16th (1:18.58).

Pierce was fifth (2:54.31), Central’s Xhayla Mosby was seventh (2:56.63) and Harrison was 11th (3:00.27) in the girls’ 800-meter run, while Mosby was eighth (7:00) and Roland’s Cadence Cole was ninth (7:10) in the 1,600-meter run.

Moya was sixth (13.8), Clark was eighth (14.05), Thompson was 17th (15.04) and Gonzalez was 26th (18.39) in the 100-meter dash.

Cole was eighth in the long jump (13-9), Roland’s Jestina Cantrell was ninth in the discus (85-0) and 15th in the discus (24-5) and Clark was 10th (29.14 seconds), Central’s Haylei Hensley was 23rd (35.26) and Roland’s Aita Ndoye Diene was 24th (36.2) in the 200-meter dash.

On the boys’ side, Lasiter was second (11.51 seconds), Central’s Aidan Sainer was seventh (12.14), Central’s Aiden Cawhorn was 13th (12.78), Central’s Brycen Chandler-Eisman was 18th (13.16) and Criswell was 22nd (around 15 seconds) in the 100-meter dash.

The boys’ discus saw a 2-4-6 local finish as Roland’s Dalton Crossno was runner-up (4510), Roland’s Braxton Prewett was fourth (392) and Central’s Cole Holcomb was sixth (3811).

Killer was third (2:13.3) and Buzzard was seventh (2:25.32) in the boys’ 800-meter run, Prewett was third (1176) in the discus and Woods was fifth in the 400-meter dash (59.76 seconds).

Goodson was third (23.63 seconds), Roland’s Camren Hartt was fourth (23.91), Roland’s Aden Sutton was seventh (24.28), Roland’s Billy McElhaney placing ninth (24.99) and Chandler-Eisman placing 17th (26.46) in the 200-meter dash. McElhaney was third in the 110-meter hurdles (20.66).

Roland’s foursome of Bower, Owens, Hartt and Sutton was fifth (1:41.58) in the 800-meter relay.

Central’s Rowan Contente was 15th in the 1,600-meter run (6:35.73), while Roland’s Hunter Lowe was seventh in the 3,200-meter run (12:40.65).

In the girls’ team standings, the Central Lady Tigers were third (73 points) and the Roland Lady Rangers were ninth (28).
