For those planning to visit anyone living in “about seven or eight houses” on 1103 Road northeast of Muldrow, plan to allow a little extra time.
Sequoyah County Commissioners last Monday approved a change in the speed limit for the short, narrow dirt road from 45 mph to 25 mph.
“It’s a little one-lane road off of Dyer Boulevard that goes back about three-tenths of a mile,” District 1 Com-missioner Ray Watts told his colleagues. “There are about seven or eight houses on it. It’s just too narrow for 45 unmarked, so I’d like to lower it.”
1103 Road extends east from Dyer Boulevard (South 4750 Road). Dyer Boulevard intersects U.S. 64 (East Shawntel Smith Boulevard) about two miles east of Muldrow.
In other business, the commissioners approved:
• Seeking bids for one or more 2012 or newer dump trucks for District 3
• A law enforcement mutual aid agreement between Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s Office and the City of Sallisaw
• Declaring as surplus three plat cabinets for the county clerk’s office.
The commissioners meet at 10 a.m. each Monday at the county courthouse.
